San Antonio Lead Hospitalist Opportunity
San Antonio Lead Hospitalist Opportunity
Are you an experienced Hospitalist who’s already accumulated some valuable practice experience?
Have you previously managed other physician’s work activities? Maybe as a Chief Resident or a similar physician management position?
If so, a large and extremely well-respected 5-hospital network has a hospitalist opportunity that may be perfect for you! This San Antonio Hospitalist job performing as a Lead Hospitalist is an employed position with the healthcare system’s Physician Network. (Hospitalist employment status is made available via a 501(a) entity.)
Lead Hospitalist Position
Each of the 4 network’s hospitalist teams has a Lead Hospitalist who coordinates the activities of the group. Since you do have additional responsibilities, you are amply rewarded for the extra duties the position requires.
Starting salary for a Lead Hospitalist is $200,000 per year. $20,000 more than those on your team. But salary is only one factor in the compensation program. There’s more!
Hospitalists also receive Quality & Production Bonuses. Bonuses earned are currently in the $100k per year range – and even higher.
You’ll be working 18 shifts per month including 2 weekends. (With 30 days in a month … you’re ‘off’ for 12) That’s 149 days in the course of a year you’re enjoying your free time. Your IM counterparts working an outpatient practice typically have only 139 days away from work each year.
Your average patient load is only 16-18 patients per shift. We DON’T want you caring for any more than that. You won’t be spread too thin working yourself ragged, trying to keep up with a bloated patient schedule. Quality care is too important to us.
If you would like to take in more shifts than the 18 during the month, you’ll receive $90 per hour for each 7p-7a shift you work. That’s $1080 per night shift!
Still need more compensation? Okay!
You’ll also be receiving a $20,000 signing bonus for joining our collegial team!
Perks For The San Antonio Lead Hospitalist Position
As an employed physician in the network, you’re entitled to a whole host of benefits. Of course, if you had to pay for these benefits, it would cost you thousands of dollars per year for similar coverage. They are included and provided to you in the employment package when you join the team.
Your employed status as a San Antonio Lead Hospitalist covers you with health, life, dental, and disability insurance. Plus you can partake in the retirement saving plan options (401k) with matching funds. Additionally, your malpractice premium is taken care of as well. This coverage comes with ‘tail’ if you should ever decide to leave the network.
You also have a yearly CME allowance of $2,500 to stay abreast with the latest hospital medicine developments.
Of course you actually have to move to San Antonio to accept a position! We are there to help with your transition to the Alamo City via a $10,000 relocation allowance.
And you’ll love living, working, playing and raising a family in our great little city. (Well, it’s not too ‘little’. San Antonio is the 7th largest city in the U.S. and a metro population around 2 million.)
A Lead Hospitalist Position With A San Antonio Leader
You’ll be joining forces with the largest healthcare network in the city. With 5 hospitals located within the city, plus a number of community clinics, the network has 36% of the local market share.
The Regional hospital ‘pulls’’ from communities in South Texas, West Texas, and even the interior cities of Mexico. You’ll be apart of a large, stable, superior health delivery system.
It is not just a biased opinion regarding the strength and reputation of this hospital network, Medicare thinks so too.
The hospital network is the only healthcare provider in Texas — and only one of five in the entire country – that was selected by Medicare as a demonstration site for the ACE program.
ACE stands for Acute Care Episode and the program pilots with 9 orthopedic and 28 cardiac DRG’s. The goal is to improve quality and efficiency of care and generate savings that will be shared among providers, beneficiaries and CMS.
